Courtesy is good green, maybe even great green.

We can all show others some courtesy when we're on the road and move over where we can best contribute to the safe efficient flow of traffic, to help traffic to move as steadily as possible, as this contributes to greater fuel efficiency and, consequently, less emission. You can apply the premise in my example to just about everything in life. If we all were to consider others' concerns, when sensible, before our own concerns, we'd have more co-operation, less stress and greater brotherhood.  In fact, think about it, if we all looked out for each other before looking out for ourselves, then, potentially, we could all have over six billion people looking out for each of us at any given time.*

How green is that?

Just sayin'

When, by driving in an unsafe manner, a driver demonstrate that HE considers HIS TIME more important than anybody else's time, or their safety- even their lives- HE shows himself to be Green With Envy instead of Green With Harmony

Idling increases emissions

This letter to the editor needed to be cut and pasted a bit to avoid including the works of other letter writers at this site.  All of my letter is included.

* Looking out for each other before ourselves is a volitional thing, a free-choice thing, not a government thing.  Forcing others, by threat of government sanction, to do what YOU think is the right thing, is not green, it's red.  Neither is government forcing others to do what YOU think government should do a Christian thing; Jesus did not promote socialism in government.  While the bible, admonishes us to care for the poor, with an emphasis on orphans and widows that is also to be volitional, not by intimidation through the threat of force by government.  Jesus never said to obey government that conflicts with His Word and, in fact, the apostles said that they must obey God rather than men on the odd chance that government attempts to usurp God.  (Where is that sarcasm font?)   It just so happens that, with the exception of the terrible 3/5ths clause, our Constitution seems to have been written with biblical principles in mind, how fortunate we are.  We should really follow it; many of the problems our land suffers would be summarily eliminated.
